hi!
I’m Amila Li (she/her), an artist and writer based in East Vancouver, on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) land.
I grew up moving around a lot, which produced an impulse toward documentation that continues to inform my days. From event photography to community programming to literary criticism, my portfolio showcases a longstanding dedication to presence—that everything is fleeting makes the here and now matter that much more.
My photography collection, PINE: Everyday Landscapes,is on exhibition at The Gallery George from April 1-26, 2026.

The joy of doing creative and community work is learning people’s stories and helping to shape them too. If you have a vision, event, or idea that you’d like brought to life, I’d love to hear from you.
